Our friends at the Paralysis Resource Center have published a new guide: Don’t Call It a Miracle: The Movement to Cure Spinal Cord Injury by Kate Willette. The 238-page guide covers the basic biology of the spinal cord and what happens when it’s injured, and explores current avenues of research from stem cell therapies to neurorecovery technologies. The guide also discusses clinical trials and what to consider before signing up. It is written in plain language and meant for the everyday person experiencing SCI and their supporters.
The guide is available free of charge in PDF, iBook, and Kindle formats.
