Participate: Wireless RERC Needs You!

The Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center for Wireless Technologies has a very strong consumer component to their research.

  • Their survey of user needs has collected more than 1200 responses since 2001.
  • They have a Consumer Advisory Network with more than 800 members who participate in panels and focus groups for the wireless industry.
  • They actively promote the usability and accessibility of wireless technology for people with disabilities.
  • They’ve written a fabulous guide to choosing a cell phone.  The guide was developed with input from and reviewed by the Consumer Advisory Network.
  • Their My Wireless Review website, currently in development, will be a forum for disseminating usability testing results for wireless technology to developers, designers, industry representatives, and people with and without disabilities who use cell phones, PDAs, and text messaging systems every day.
